Roof Top Packaged Units

New VRV / VRF systems offer high levels of energy efficiency, as well as flexibility. They operate quietly and provide the user full control of the environmental temperatures. While traditional HVAC systems are often limited to one condensing unit, one compressor and one evaporator, a VRV / VRF system can be designed to specifically meet the needs of the building. One condensing unit can be connected to several evaporators, each of which are individually controlled.

Indoor Packaged Units

Indoor package units (IPU) are similar to rooftop units, but because the unit is located inside, it requires a different way of cooling the condensing unit. The most common way, is air-cooled using louvered openings (horizontal angled slats that prevent outside weather to come inside, but allow air flow) to get fresh outside air. In situations where there is no access to fresh outside air, water cooled units are the best solution. Indoor units come in vertical, or space saving horizontal configurations. These units are the same as roof top units in the way they connect to duct work and have the same heating options as mention in the roof top packed page.

Split Systems

Split systems are comprised of a condensing unit (a condensing coil and a compressor) located outside, and an air hander (pushes air across the evaporator coil) located inside. Refrigerant lines for high and low pressure are run from the condensing unit to the air handler. Since the high pressure lines get cold, they are covered with insulation to prevent condensation issues and having water accumulate inside the space. The air hander comes in different configurations to best fit the desired installation. Ducted (Connected to duct work), and ductless (wall mounted, ceiling suspended, ceiling cassettes, and floor standing) are some of the options in a split system. You may also have multiple air handers connected to one condensing unit in computer controlled split systems. The heating options are the same as packed units.

Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, we work with the customer to design a system that meets their needs and budget. Here are some of the HVAC systems we can offer you.

Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV/VRF)

New VRV / VRF systems offer high levels of energy efficiency, as well as flexibility. They operate quietly and provide the user full control of the environmental temperatures. While traditional HVAC systems are often limited to one condensing unit, one compressor and one evaporator, a VRV / VRF system can be designed to specifically meet the needs of the building. One condensing unit can be connected to several evaporators, each of which are individually controlled.

Water Source Heat Pump Units

Water Source Heat Pump (WSHP) systems are versatile, environmentally friendly and highly efficient. The heat pumps use the constant temperature of the earth as the exchange medium instead of the outside air temperature which allows the system to reach high efficiencies on the coldest winter nights and hottest days. They can be placed in any room in a building and save you money by not wasting energy cooling and heating rooms that do not need it.
